**EVENT POSTPONED TO SUNDAY MARCH 13th 2022**
Get your boots on and your esky out, the Scenic Rim Farm Gate Trail is back on Sunday 6 March, inviting foodies from far and wide to the countryside for a fantastic family day out!
The end of summer is almost here, so what better time to explore your own backyard and sample a veritable smorgasbord of delicious produce and farm-fresh eats from the area’s local makers.
The inaugural Scenic Rim Farm Gate Trail was held in 2020. Now two years in, the event has grown in popularity, attracting over 5,000 visitors! And it’s easy to see why. The Farm Gate Trail gives food lovers a truly unique opportunity to meet and support local farmers directly, all while exploring this beautiful region and getting to know where our food comes from.
The Scenic Rim is a picturesque paradise and food haven, with breathtaking vistas and a generous community spirit. This year over 20 farmers and producers will be opening their gates, showcasing everything from fruit and veggies to gourmet cheeses, beverages, meats, ice cream, and more!
The trail mimics a ‘choose your own adventure’, where visitors are given full creative licence to customise their daily itinerary and hit the top spots that pique their interest.
You can enjoy a wine tasting at Witches Falls Winery, enjoy a picnic at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard, nibble on a cheese platter in the garden at Towri Sheep Cheeses, and take selfies with some furry friends at Mountview Alpacas. There will even be a special Scenic Rim Farm Shop packed with locally grown produce, which just so happens to be dog friendly if you plan on bringing your four-legged friend.
If that’s not enough gastronomic goodness, there will also be boozy destinations like Cauldron Distillery, Sarabah Estate Vineyard and Tamborine Mountain Distillery offering expertly mixed cocktails, tastings and take-home drops so you can pick up some new provisions for your bar cart.
It’s guaranteed to be a beautiful day out, the perfect opportunity to get to know your local farmers and their produce. The Farm Gate Trail is on Sunday 6 March from 9am to 3pm. For more information or to download your map and pick the spots you’d like to visit, click here.
